That's right folks, Chase here and I have just completed the iPhone (or other wireless handheld device) addition of my website, ChaseMelendez.com. Now, the regular site hasn’t changed in the slightest but if you visit my site from an iPhone you are automatically re-directed to the iPhone addition of the site. Now, since the iPhone does not yet support Flash animation & download times can be rather long-winded using the Edge network, it is of course a very pared down bare-bones version of the website but it came out great just the same and is exactly what I wanted to give to the handheld visitors of my site. As the iPhone has now surpassed the Blackberry in portable internet and nearly all of the major websites (Google, Yahoo, Facebook, etc) are now fully supporting iPhone versions of their sites for ease of use, I thought it only appropriate to make a version of my own and yes, that’s right.. I know how to make a website for the iPhone now.
The site is designed to emulate the efficiency of the iPhone’s interface itself; the Home page acts as a hub from which all other pages are launched. Once you are done exploring a particular section, simply tap the “go home” button located at the bottom of every page to return to the main menu and choose a new section from there. This is a great way that Apple has found to reduce navi clutter and simplify end user experience and so I figured, hey, if it ain’t broke..
480 x 320 is the new 800 x 600!! (that’s a web joke)
So, if you have an iPhone, please take the time to check out my site, just go to http://chasemelendez.com/ on your iPhone (no need to type in anything different for the address) and enjoy. There are free wallpapers for your iPhone as well as a free ChaseMelendez.com icon if you bookmark the site to your iPhones’ Home Page.

HOLY CRAP!! THE LITTLE PEOPLE ON THE HOME PAGE MOVE AROUND NOW!!! That's right, it's almost one year to the day since my last website update and man was it worth the wait. The new homepage 'peeps' are now fully animated with cool little intros (including a bitchin' reference to the video game, Portal). You can just let them sit there and move around on thier own or you can play around with them. Either way, it's a whole new level of interactive fun on the homepage. I couldn't be much happier with it.. so enjoy!

OMG THERE'S NEW NEWS!!! So sorry for the long absence. Things have been difficult and i've been hiding out a bit but times like these are always the most productive for me. All of these artists are friends with Henry, a five year old boy who has cerebral palsy. In an effort to raise money for uncovered medical expenses, alternative forms of therapy and other miscellaneous expenses, 100% of the proceeds of this show will be going to Henry in the form of a special needs trust fund. To coincide with the opening of the show "story boards" will be producing 99 skateboard decks signed and numbered by artists Jo Jackson and Chris Johanson. Story boards is a new skateboard/artist project where different artists donate there time and abilities in an ongoing effort to raise funds for Henry. Each of the boards offered by Story boards will be a limited edition signed and numbered by the individual artists. Following Jo Jackson and Chris Johanson will be Dave Carnie and Martin Ontriveros. If someone can't make it to the show the boards will be available exclusively thru www.readingfrenzy.com. Calling All Cars will be opening on Saturday September 30th at Cals Pharmacy Skate Shop with an artists reception from 6pm to 10pm and run thru October 31st.

Happy Birthday Mum!
My mother turned 45 today. Only 5 more to 50.. uh oh mom.
And in other news i launched a new section of the website today. You see, i have a fondness for stand-up comedy and so i have decided to, well, to become one. A comedian that is. And so as a step towards this new career there is now a new doorway page to my site linking to my art portfolio and my new comedy section with appearance dates.. and other info to come soon.

This is an excerpt from an e-mail I received from Steve Dinneen, the editor of brazen magazine in Scotland..
“..We'll be coming out (with next issue) in February so there's a little time to plan things. We're waiting for a few features to come through so we'll know better the sort of thing we're after in about a week's time. And you've really boosted Brazen's hits too. We're now getting as many hits from the US as over here. Which is odd! Anyway, we'll definitely be in touch. Thanks Again.”
I want to personally thank all of my American fans for taking the time to visit Brazens’ website. I would like to point out that brazen is a Scottish Magazine only and as Steve mentioned above, attention from the US market is “odd”.

ok, so this is killer..
Glasgow, Scotland arts & culture magazine, brazen, will feature two of my pieces (one of which will be the cover!!) in their premiere issue next month. The pieces are 'lucifer' and 'suicide boy'. Check out their website (see link in previous sentence) to get a sneak peak. I have officially gone international as an artist. I will post more details after the issue hits the Scotland newsstands (how cool is that?).

The redesign of chasemelendez.com is finally done! One year in the making.. well, it actually only took a week or two but that week or two was stretched over a year so i'm going with the tag line "a year in the making" cuz it sounds so cool.
